Sports Camp

The Sports Program is designed for boys and girls 7 to 13 years old and focuses on participation, enjoyment and skill learning. The campers will enjoy a variety of sports such as golf, baseball, basketball, volleyball, soccer, tetherball, to mention a few. The campers will be divided up into groups honouring sports franchises from the City of Toronto and participate in a variety of specialities each day plus take part in a recreational swim.

Golf

Introduction to the basic techniques essential to playing. The Grip. The Stance. The Mechanics of the Full Swing. Chipping. Putting.

Baseball

The campers will shuttle between the campsite and a local baseball diamond. Campers will participate in skills: drills, proper throwing motion, proper fielding techniques, bunting, and stealing. These skills will be incorporated into weekly baseball games . Rainy days will see the players take part in indoor drills, visiting batting cages or analyzing video replays of themselves.

Tennis

Introduction to the basic techniques and rules associated with the sport. Emphasis on understanding the following elements will be covered: proper stroke mechanics (forehand and backhand), proper volley techniques, the rules of the game, court etiquette and respect for opposition. Also included are supervised play to assist the child in using the basic shots and tactics under game conditions, and to correct common errors. Fun and enjoyments are stressed at all times.

Basketball

Program is to function as in introduction to the techniques associated with the game such as dribbling, passing, shooting and team work.
